Wine 101 Series: Pinot Noir Appreciation

Thursday, April 18, 2013 - 6:30pm - 9:00pm

Calling all Pinot lovers! It’s time to Find Your Perch! With the recent release of our 2011 J. Lohr Estates Falcon’s Perch Pinot Noir, there’s never been a better time to learn about this distinctive varietal and its special place in the world of wine. Lawrence Lohr, director of wine education, will lead this educational seminar and take participants on a guided tour of everything Pinot, from its origins in Burgundy 2,000 years ago to its evolution as a 21st century favorite of wine lovers everywhere. A guided tasting of Pinots, from Burgundy to California, will introduce you to the unique qualities of this cool-climate varietal, with an emphasis on J. Lohr Pinot Noir from the Arroyo Seco and Santa Lucia Highlands appellations. This is the final class in the 2013 Wine 101 Education Series. Other classes include Descriptor Seminars on January 17th and April 5th, Rhone Valley Rendezvous on February 21st and a Sauvignon Blanc Appreciation class on March 21st.
