Paso Robles Mid-Peninsula Grand Tasting Tour

Paso Robles Wine Country, one of the nation’s premier wine producing regions, hits the road for its 2010 National Grand Tasting Tour with a first-ever visit to the SF Bay Area / Mid-Peninsula areas of Menlo Park, Palo Alto and Redwood City. Browse the outdoor gallery of original works created by renowned California Plein Air artists. By invitation each year, a handpicked group of artists lose themselves for two days in the natural beauty of La Cuesta Encantada, painting diverse and magnificent works of art for this premier fine art exhibit. Proceeds from the sale of the paintings fund ArtReach, pairing at-risk youth with artist mentors to nurture partnership and creativity. J. Lohr will be presenting our 2006 J. Lohr Hilltop Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2007 J. Lohr Arroyo Vista Chardonnay.

Merlot in May

The J. Lohr Merlot Symposium is an educational event in which guests will learn how the soil and climate of the appellation need to be delicately balanced to produce superior varietal character for Merlot. Guests will taste Merlots from Washington, Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley and Paso Robles, and then compare two slightly different styles produced from each of these regions and evaluate the factors responsible for this differentiation. The lecture will also discuss the importance of balance as a determinant of excellence for either style. Please note that this event does not include food items.
