Puff Pastry Tarts with Ricotta and Figs
It’s autumn, a great time to share a bottle of J. Lohr Estates Los Osos Merlot. Simply add this delicious Ricotta and Fig Tarts preparation for the perfect fall weekend! Los Osos Merlot is incredibly versatile, pairing wonderfully with a wide variety of flavors and textures.

Serves: 6
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, sliced into 6 rectangles
- 8 oz. ricotta (vegan or regular)
- 1 cup figs, halved or quartered
- 1/4 cup toasted walnuts, finely chopped
- 1 tsp. fresh thyme leaves
- Optional: 1-2 Tbsp. honey
- Salt and pepper
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Roll out the sheet of puff pastry. Slice in half lengthwise, then slice each rectangle into thirds to make 6 (total) rectangles.
- Using a paring knife, score a 1/4" border around each rectangle of puff pastry.
- Place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and use a spoon to press down the center of each puff pastry tart, inside the border that you scored.
- Spread each tart with ricotta, then top with sliced figs, walnuts, thyme, honey (optional), and season with salt and pepper.
- Enjoy with a glass of J. Lohr Estates Los Osos Merlot.
