Monterey County’s unique climate and soils make it an exceptional region for winegrowing. Its close proximity to the Pacific Ocean brings maritime winds and fog, creating an ideal environment for growing cool-climate-loving Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

J. Lohr recognized Monterey’s potential early on, establishing its original vineyards in what was to become the Arroyo Seco AVA. While we do not have a public tasting room at our state-of-the-art winery here, you sense Monterey Bay’s distinctive influence in every bottle of J. Lohr Arroyo Vista, October Night, and Riverstone Chardonnay.
